The temples are full, the mosques echo with prayers, the churches resonate with hymns, and yet, amid all these places of worship, a deity far more powerful than any idol, any scripture, or any celestial being exists. This god does not demand blind faith; it demands numbers, zeros in your bank account, and crisp notes in your wallet. It doesn’t punish the sinners or reward the righteous — it simply follows one unbreakable law: those who have it, live; those who don’t, suffer.
Let’s remove the illusion of free will and divinity. The real god that governs our lives, our fate, our happiness, and even our morality is Money. The Rupee, the Dollar, the Pound, the Euro — call it what you want, it is omnipresent, omnipotent, and omniscient.
Without it, you don’t eat.
Without it, you don’t sleep peacefully.
Without it, your dreams are just hallucinations, your ambitions are pipe dreams, and your existence is a burden.
Imagine a Day Without Money
Picture a regular day in Mumbai, Delhi, or Bangalore. Now take money out of the equation.
You wake up and head out to buy some tea. But wait, no money? The chaiwala doesn’t care that you have a philosophy degree from JNU or an MBA from IIM. No money, no tea.
You hail an auto to get to work. But why would the rickshaw driver give you a free ride? He has rent to pay, EMI deadlines, and a family that depends on him.
You get to your office and ask for your salary in advance because you have bills to pay. But your boss laughs — “Company policy, my friend. No advance payments.”
The world is indifferent to your needs, your emotions, and your existence if you don’t have money. Man made money, but money made man mad.
The Worship of Wealth
In India, we celebrate Diwali and Lakshmi Puja, praying to the goddess of wealth. But let’s be honest — this is the only god that gives instant results.
Pray to any other deity, and you’ll get vague promises of salvation. Pray to money, and you get an instant upgrade in lifestyle.
- A 5-star hotel room vs. a railway platform? Money decides.
- The latest iPhone vs. a cracked Android screen? Money decides.
- A private hospital with the best doctors vs. a crumbling government clinic? Again, money decides.
It doesn’t matter what religion you follow. Hindu, Muslim, Christian, Sikh — at the end of the day, your prayer is the same: “O Almighty Money, bless me!”
The Irony of Charity
Let’s talk about charity, that grand spectacle of human kindness, that noble act of selflessness.
But here’s the ugly truth — charity only exists because money is unevenly distributed. If wealth were truly equal, charity wouldn’t need to exist.
Take a walk in South Mumbai, past the glittering towers and luxury boutiques. Then walk a few kilometers to Dharavi, where millions live crammed in narrow alleys. One city, two worlds — separated by money.
And yet, people will donate a few rupees to a beggar at a traffic signal, feeling like they have done their good deed for the day, before driving off in their Mercedes. Oh, what a beautiful, poetic joke!
The Global Context: The Dollar Raj
India is not alone in this madness.
Globally, the world runs on an economic caste system. If money is power, then the United States is the global priest, setting the rules of the game. The dollar dictates oil prices, international trade, and even wars.
Want proof?
Look at the sanctions game. The U.S. can cripple an entire nation’s economy just by denying it access to dollars. The world isn’t run by leaders or governments — it’s run by central banks, hedge funds, and stock markets. Money is the ultimate weapon of mass destruction.
The Middle-Class Mirage
The Indian middle class is the biggest victim of this system. They earn just enough to believe they are comfortable but not enough to escape the rat race.
They wake up at 6 AM, commute for hours, work tirelessly, pay taxes, save for a future that keeps getting more expensive, and pray they don’t fall sick because a single medical emergency can wipe out their entire savings.
Meanwhile, billionaires make money while they sleep, thanks to compounding interest and stock market speculation.
The Illusion of Financial Freedom
Financial gurus tell you that you can “escape the system” by investing wisely. They sell you dreams of passive income, crypto riches, and side hustles.
But at the end of the day, the system is designed to ensure that the majority stays trapped while the elite enjoy true freedom.
- Can you take a year off work without financial stress? No? Then you’re not free.
- Can you afford a house in a major city without a 30-year loan? No? Then you’re not free.
- Can you say “I quit” to your job without fearing financial ruin? No? Then you’re not free.
The Harshest Truth: No Money, No Help
The idea that “humanity will help each other” is a romanticized lie. If you are broke, no one cares.
During COVID-19, we saw bodies piling up because hospitals wouldn’t admit patients without upfront payments.
We saw migrant workers walking thousands of kilometers because they had no savings and no support.
In the end, money dictates who lives and who dies.
Bow Down
So, let’s stop pretending.
Stop fooling ourselves.
Stop believing that morality, kindness, or faith will save us.
In this world, money is god. The only god that matters.
Whether you believe in Krishna, Allah, Jesus, or Shiva, when you swipe your card at the grocery store, the cashier isn’t checking your religious beliefs. They are checking if your transaction is approved.
Welcome to reality. Bow down to the Almighty Rupee. May your wallets stay blessed, without Nirmala Sitharaman :)
